MacKillop College is currently a day and boarding secondary school for girls located in
Bathurst,
New South Wales,
Australia. The current school principal is Mr. Steve Todd.
History
The College was established in
1967 by Bishop Thomas to meet the educational needs of girls in the Bathurst Diocese. It was staffed by the
Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of St Joseph under the patronage of Our Lady Help of Christians. In
1995, the name was changed from
Diocesan Catholic Girls High School to
MacKillop College in honour of Blessed
Mary MacKillop.
On
August 9,
2007 it was formally announced that the college's boarding house at St Josephs College, Perthville would be closing by the end of 2008.
